Denisha King is the founder/owner and psychotherapist at Living in Wellness Counseling Services. She is a graduate of Rutgers University and holds a Master’s of Social Work. She is licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and License Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC). Denisha King has been helping individuals and families since 2008 across various settings, including outpatient, local government, school and private practice. Denisha is skilled at working with the chronically mentally ill and substance use population, children with behavioral challenges and school classifications, and families who seek to improve their communication. Denisha's primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because she believes that changing the way a person thinks will improve their mood and lead to changed behavior. Although Denisha works with all populations, she is most passionate about working with adolescents and young adults as they are "figuring out life." Denisha is passionate about providing education to both clients, clinicians and the community to increase mental health awareness and appropriate treatment. She continues to grow as a professional and strives to impact the community by helping others to transform their lives through providing supervision, training, workshops and consultation.
Kayla Hanley holds a valid New Jersey License of Social Work. She received her Bachelor Degree in Psychology, with minors in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, and a Masters of Social Work with a focus on clinical work from Fordham University. I have been working in the clinical field for five years, working with children, adolescents, adults and couples. Kayla’s specialty is trauma-focus therapy, with TF-CBT extensive training and application, explore and work to resolve painful experiences. Kayla has extensive experience helping individuals with depression and anxiety, as well. She works with children, adults, families and couples who want to better themselves and work to overcome any obstacles to growth.
Sherin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New Jersey. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from William Paterson University. She received her Master’s degree from Walden University and is now pursuing her Doctorate in Social Work. Her areas of clinical expertise include the acute inpatient hospital setting, sub-acute rehab, and recovery centers for substance abuse. Sherin works with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, grief and loss, and relationship issues. Sherin practices cultural competency and approaches clients from a place of empathy and open communication. She is a proponent of motivational interviewing, faith-based counseling, and focusing on a client’s strengths. She believes that each client is unique and works with them individually to help them reach their goals. Sherin believes that every client has the potential to live the life that they envision, and she is passionate about helping them get there
Sarah Miller graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. Sarah received her Master of Science degree in Advanced Clinical Social Work from Columbia University. She is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of NJ. She has worked in a variety of settings with clients in every age group, from diverse cultural backgrounds facing a wide variety of challenges. Sarah uses a compassionate, patient, non-judgmental, relaxed approach to help clients feel comfortable enough to express their concerns. Sarah’s primary therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Sarah works with all populations and specializes in providing therapy for families, adolescents, and young adults.
Francisco is a bilingual (English-Spanish) Licensed Social Worker in the state of NJ. He received his Master of Clinical Social Work, with an emphasis in Mental and Behavioral Health from Rutgers University. He has worked in a variety of mental health settings working with children, youth, and adults. Francisco incorporates Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in his work with individuals, couples and families. Francisco believes in providing support to individuals within a non-judgmental, safe, and understanding environment to promote overall well-being.
Candace, a Licensed Social Worker in New Jersey, holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice: Juvenile & Family Services with a minor in Psychology from the University of New Haven. She earned dual Master's degrees, one in Public Health from the University of New Haven and the other in Social Work from Howard University. Her professional expertise involves serving individuals and families within the child welfare system. Specializing in adolescent/young adult issues, anxiety, depression, collaborative problem-solving, coping skills, effective communication, grief and loss, intergenerational work, interpersonal functioning, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, stress management, and trauma, Candace employs diverse therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strength-Based Therapy. She emphasizes fostering a therapeutic setting that promotes learning, integration, emotional exploration, personal growth, skill enhancement, and transformation.
Miryam is a bilingual (English-Spanish speaking) Licensed Social Worker in the state of NJ. She received her Master of Social Work and Addiction Counselor Training Certificate from Rutgers University. She has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children who are learning to cope with depression, anxiety, substance use disorder, anger management, grief, ADHD symptoms, in addition to other mental health illnesses. Miryam will support you to create and reach your own goals through the use of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory and mindfulness techniques. Miryam believes that therapy is a journey towards thriving and reaching self-actualization.
